The Kiwanis Club of Sierra Vista was chartered on March 24, 1957. We were the first Kiwanis club in Sierra Vista. Our club Foundation has helped the city of Sierra Vista with building the Sierra Vista Kiwanis Skate and Bike Court and we have donated over $30, 000 for playground equipment. Our current project is to help fund the new teen center which is planned to break ground in 2013.
Our club sponsors several student leadership programs in Sierra Vista: Cochise College CKI, Buena High School Key Club, CAS Builders Club, and Huachuca Mountain K-Kids. These student leadership programs help over 150 students learn about service and leadership.
Our service projects include highway clean up, graffiti abatement, painting the Boys and Girls Club, water safety classes, bike safety rodeo and our Young Children Priority One project- reading to Preschool students and giving them books to promote literacy.
